“I came to the workshop thinking that other people were the violent ones and I was one of the peaceful ones. AVP helped me to realise that life isn't divided up like that; we are all just people.”

AVP is building safer and healthier communities, helping people to build better, non-violent relationships. AVP works with people from all backgrounds and over half of our participants have experienced violence or abuse in their home life. Everyone is made welcome. The workshops are low-cost and no-one is turned away for inability to pay. All workshops are run by trained volunteers, who are all former workshop participants themselves.

But we need your help to continue our work. We are a small community charity with a very small staff and we rely on the generosity of individuals to make sure that as many people and communities benefit from AVP as possible. Here's how your money can help:

• £3 per month will pay for all materials used in weekend workshops throughout the year in one region of Britain.
• £5 per month will cover the expenses for a volunteer to facilitate a weekend workshop.
• £10 per month will pay for a venue for a weekend workshop each year.
• £15 per month will pay for someone to complete our distance-learning course in Facing Up to Conflict
• £20 per month will pay for one new facilitator to be trained each year.
• A one off donation of £10 will pay for the refreshments at one workshop
• A one off donation of £40 will fund a concessionary place for a participant on a low income
• A one off donation of £250 will fund the training for a new volunteer facilitator

Standing order

Alternatively, you can set up a Standing Order with your bank by completing our Standing Order Form and freeposting it to us at the address on the form.
